些細でありふれた風景の一つ

2012年秋、人もまばらな鹿島区 上栃窪で車を走らせていると、公園でゲートボールをやっているお年寄りたちを見かけた。

脇に設置された放射線量測定器は低 くはない数値を示していたが、後先短いご老人はお構いなしらしく、むしろ人口減が続くこの地域ではお喋りと運動のよい機会だと参加者 は口を揃えて語ってくれた。

ゲートボールをやっている様を見る のは久しぶりだった。

この地域では原発事故後に移住を選 択した若い世代の家族が多いので、この地域のゲートボール文化も時間の問題で滅びるだろう。

原発事故が奪うであろう、数多くの ものの中の、ささいでありふれた風景の一つ。

One of an ordinary sight

In 2012, some older people played gate ball (game similar to croquet) at a park in Kashima, Minamisoma city.

Although the radiation level at the park was not low, they don't mind it, and they even thought it was good chance to chat with their friends and do sports.

I haven't seen people playing it for long time.

I think the gate ball culture in this village will die out in the near future because most of the younger families has immigrated to another place after the Fukushima`s nuclear accident.
