帰る場所

避難区域の小高区商店街にて。一時帰宅をして被災した家と商店の整理をしていたご家族と出会った。

母子は山形に避難し、お父さんは隣町の原町に居を構えて仕事をしている。

建物はもう取り壊されて、ない。原発事故さえなければ家族が揃って生活の再建ができただろうが、もう帰る場所すらなくなってしまったことを、先日空き地となったその場所をみて思った。

「家は取り壊したから貰った写真はよい記念になったよ」

帰る場所がある僕にはそのお言葉を貰っても複雑な気持ちになった。

a place to come back

I met a family, who cleaned their belongings in Odaka, where was etacuation area at that time.

The mother and her children took refugee to Yamagata prefecture and the father moved alone to next town, Haramachi and continued to his work.

Their home has been already destroyed. They would reconstructed their home and take back their life just like before the Tohoku earthquake, if Fukushima's accident hadn't been happened. I realised they lost the place to come back when I went and saw the vacant land.

The father told me that the picture I shot and gave him became memorable, but I had mixed feelings because I`ve got the place to come back.

日本のおかあさん

まだ人もまばらだった小高区の商店街で出会った明るく親切な女性を僕は親しみを込めて「おかあさん」と呼ぶ。

思えばこの地方で僕が抱く日本人の「おかあさん」像の方に数多く出会った気がする。

海に面している浜通りの地域性だろうか。

写真を撮る場所を尋ねると真っ先に小高神社の桜の樹の下が挙がった。

小高区民の誇りともなっている立派なサクラの樹。

大震災が起きようとも、原発事故が起きようとも、避難区域に指定されようとも、死と再生を繰り返していた。

出会った当時はひっそりと静まり返った町も、今では槌音が少なからず響くようになった。

おかあさんの家も先日、上棟式が終わり、夏前には完成予定だ。

小高区が、どのような再生を遂げるのか、この眼でしかと確かめていきたい。

a Japanese mother

I met a lady whom I call mother affectionately at a shopping street in Odaka.

I met many ladies whom I take as typical Japanese mother, cheerful and kind. I guess it's because they live in a seaside town.

I asked where she wants to be shot, then she quickly replied "at Odaka shrine under the cherry blossom", which most of Odaka residents regards as their pride.

The cherry blossoms bloomed even after the Tohoku earthquake and Fukushima's nuclear accident.

Although silence compassed Odaka 3 years ago, now we can see some construction works. Her house has also been under construction.

I`m sure I`ll follow Odaka to see how it will be changed.

変わらない風景

農村の冬の風景は得てしてうら寂しいので、如何ようにも寂しげに撮れる。

放射能によって山林や大地が汚染されようとも風景は不変だ。

僕はこの時、樹々の、大地の嘆き声を聴いた気がした。
その嘆声と風景とが不埒にも美しいと感じてしまう自分が、いた。

綺麗なだけではやく、汚れや穢れを兼ね備えたものに、人は美を見出すのかもしれない。

unchanging scenary

It's easy to shoot a sorrow scenary at a farming village in winter.

Radiation dosen't affect for view of mountains and trees, so it seems nothing was happened even after Fukushima's nuclear accident.

l felt as if I heard the moan of them, then I dissolutely fond it beautiful.

I beleave humans find a beauty in both uncleanness and cleanness.

あの頃高校生だった君

彼女は震災がおきた年に高校3年生となり合唱団の団長を務めていた。

被災後は避難生活、合唱団の再開とその継続、そして卒業と文字通り怒濤の1年だっただろう。

苦悩を表に出さず、歌を通して表現しようとする姿は雄々しくもあり、痛々しかった。

結局、小高の自宅へ帰ることなく卒業してしまった。この後は東京の大学に進学が決まっており、予定通りなら今春に卒業のはず。

震災から5年という時間の長さを痛感する。


When the Tohoku earthquake and great Tsunami was happened, she was a
high school student in 2nd year and was a leader of a local chorus
group for junior and high school students.

it must be a touhg life for her after the earthquake, for example,
evacuation, study, restart of the group so on.

she tried to express all of her emotion through singing rather than showing them

She eventually graduated from her high school without returning to her
local town,Odaka. She would go to a university, and then she was
supposed to graduate from the university this year.

I was realized five years has been past since the earthquake.
